This Milwaukee Bungalow received a contemporary twist by transforming the entire unfinished attic space into a master suite bedroom and open concept spa bathroom.

Creating an open concept bathroom, with no doors and open above without walls extending to the ceiling, created a challenge to maintain privacy as well as open exposure. We masterfully created a round shower, giving a dramatic look as you walk up the stairs and enter the living space. The interior of the shower is covered with mosaic glass, enhanced with subway tile lining the walls of the bathroom. A free standing soaking tub invites you in as you enter the bathroom.

Plumbing, electrical, and HVAC were all added to accommodate the new bathroom and heating of a once unfinished attic. All the windows were replaced as well as relocated to accommodate the location of the new walls. A full electrical plan with ample recessed lighting transforms a once dark, cold room into a warm, inviting sanctuary.

A fresh palate of grays, chocolates and cool blue hues were used to give this modern space a calming, tranquil feel. Rich chocolate bamboo covers the entire living space. Espresso alder wood cabinetry and white marble enhance the bathroom and add to the consistency of design elements. This new attic space boasts unique ceiling and wall angles, exposed chimney, ample storage and an office area.
