Lower Level Basement Build-out

Finishing the basement of this 1950’s Elm Grove ranch gives it a new, contemporary living and entertainment space for the whole family to enjoy. This large space required a bedroom, with new egress window, full bathroom, bar and pool table area, theatre area, work shop, exercise room, ample storage and reading area near the fireplace.

Our client’s desire for a modern, contemporary new space was met with unique selections for materials, finishes as well as colors, and clean lines.

The bar features a large, funky radius countertop complimented with rich espresso cabinetry, commercial laminate countertops, and gray glass tile in mod geometric rectangles line the backsplash.

Wanting an open, airy feel to the exercise room, Lumicor panels with grass reeds were inserted into the walls, adding diffused light into the room and providing an impressive design element to be admired from all angles in the space. Flooring throughout the entire lower level includes carbonized bamboo and modern shag carpeting. Ample lighting adds a warm, cozy atmosphere, eliminating a “basement” feel.

This Elm Grove lower level was created for entertaining, boasting a full wet bar, complete with dishwasher, glass cabinetry, and plenty of liquor storage. 
The bar cabinetry is made of Rustic Alder wood cabinetry, the custom bead board and wainscot wrapping the bar create a warm lodge feel. 
Glass mosaic tile backsplash shimmers from the light of the beaded pendants. A full electrical plan with in–cabinet, under-cabinet, pendant and recessed lighting all controlled by dimmer stitching, allows the user to create the atmosphere they desire. A full bathroom was added, and even a new workout room.  We created an arched opening into the new space with sliding glass pocket doors that disappear into the archway.
And we didn’t forget the dogs…..
We incorporated a dog-washing station for the homeowners to give their dogs a bath in the comfort of their home.

Game lovers will love to hang out in this finished lower level complete with billiard table, hockey table and darts. Once an unfinished block basement, now contains a full wet bar with all the amenities including a walk-in pantry. We also added a power room downstairs. Wrought iron stair railing adds an elegant feel to the open concept room. The ceiling is a combination of drywall and ceiling tile.

Menomonee Falls, WI

This lower level build out included adding a bedroom with egress window and large walk-in closet. A large entertainment area with eat-in kitchenette makes for a full-service lower level. Ample storage areas were thoughtfully planned for, including closets and large storage spaces. A full bath with shower was added. Woodland cabinetry and laminate countertops were added in the bath and kitchenette. The ceiling is drop in tile with recessed lighting.
